Personal Training is much more than just a structured exercise routine to assist you in your quest to reach your goals.

Your Personal Trainer will work with you to design a workout which will be the most suitable and effective possible.

Your Personal Trainer will encourage and motivate you to perform better than you ever thought you could. This level of committment combined with advice and instruction on improving your lifestyle will drastically reduce the time taken to achieve your goals.


Personal Training Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do the Instructors in the gym do Personal Training (PT) sessions?

We have 7 instructors however not all of them provide PT. All instructors will be more than happy to discuss the best way for you to progress and develop in the gym and, if they are unable to do PT for you, they will pass you on to another instructor who can. Check the PT information on display in Excells for further information.

2. How do I arrange a PT session?

Speak with the instructor of your choice and they will advise you on your options. If you decide to book a PT session then the date/time should be agreed with the instructor then you must visit reception to confirm the booking and make payment. All PT sessions must be paid for in advance.

3. How much does a PT session cost?

The standard price for one PT session is £35. However this is reduced to £30 if you are a Gold/Silver/Bronze/Corporate or Gym Only Member.

4. Do you offer discounts for multiple bookings?

Yes, we offer a £25 discount on Blocks of 5 for non-members. This takes the price down to £150. The Gold/Silver etc. price is also reduced by £25 taking it down to £125.

5. Do I have to use the Block of 5 by a specific date?

Yes, all sessions must be used within 12 months.


6. Do you offer refunds if I am unable to attend my PT session? For example, what if I am caught in heavy traffic, held up at work etc.

Unfortunately refunds are not available if you are unable to keep to your agreed time. When the booking is made the instructor is agreeing with you that they will be there for that session. If you fail to attend then the instructor still has to be paid for the time they have agreed to provide you with your PT session. We would strongly recommend that you prepare in advance, give yourself plenty of time and arrive in advance of your booking time.

 

7. Am I able to change the time of my session if I know in advance that I will be unable to attend?

Yes, as long as you provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice so that the instructor knows he/she is not required.


8. What if I am ill and cannot attend?

No refunds are available for pre-booked PT sessions except in extreme circumstances. (See Point 10)

9. What if I decide not to use all of my PT sessions in my Block of 5? Do I get a refund for my unused sessions?

No refunds are available for unused PT sessions except in extreme circumstances (See point 10)

10. What if I am ill/injured and unable to use my sessions within the 12-month period?

You will be required to produce medical evidence to confirm that you are unable to participate in physical activity. Upon receipt of this we will extend the duration of any PT sessions remaining.

11. What if my illness/injury prevents me from training long term? Do I get a refund then for any unused PT sessions?

Upon receipt of medical evidence we would calculate a refund for unused sessions. When calculating refunds, all used PT sessions would be charged at the pre-discounted price. An administration charge would also be applied to cover costs including any bank charges incurred.
